Retail Therapy: Flora Grubb Gardens

Have you ever walked into a nursery a coveted everything–absolutely everything?  Recently I visited Flora Grubb Gardens in San Francisco and could have happily purchased all that they sold.  If you are a plant nut, or even just a color/texture nut like I am, you’ll love Flora Grubb.  There is a wonderfully curated selection of palms, succulents, bromeliads, and Mediterranean plants.  These are punctuated by beautiful pottery and furnishings, including colorful Fermob furniture and Pacific Home and Garden containers.

Though located in an industrial corner of San Francisco, the nursery is obviously a popular destination.  I visited on a weekday morning, and there were dozens of visitors sipping coffee from the cafe and lounging on the vintage pick-up trucks that have been converted to seating areas.  I’ll be  back–next time with a pick-up of my own to bring home everything I want to buy.
