We are a boutique firm that has been designing landscapes since 2004.

Working closely with our clients, we create spaces that are simple in structure yet rich in plant and material choices.

June Scott

Principal June Scott brings extensive experience in the arts and landscape design to each project. She began designing gardens in 2004, after a successful career fundraising for major cultural institutions.  June earned a certificate in landscape architecture (with distinction) from UCLA Extension in 2009 and was awarded an Quality of Life Design Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects/Southern California Chapter in 2010.

The years following included design work at Lenkin Design, a boutique firm specializing in high-end residential projects and North East Trees, a design/build firm with a focus on sustainable design. June is active on the Board of South Pasadena Beautiful.

In 2014, June earned her landscape architecture license, and today the firm is engaged in projects ranging from urban courtyards to rural getaways — all with an emphasis on comfort, beauty, and ecological sustainability.

Concept Design

Personalized designs for climate-appropriate planting, shade structures, outdoor lighting, outdoor kitchens, firepits and fireplaces, water features, irrigation, paving, erosion control and more

3D Rendering

We can provide Sketchup and Photoshop rendering to help illustrate our vision

Construction Documents

Detailed technical drawings for all elements

Contractor Referral

Finding a contractor can be challenging. We have developed a list of landscape contractors for referral

Construction Observation

We can be on site often to observe, solve problems and make sure that the project stays true to the design

  • Meet

At our initial meeting, we will walk the site and review your design requirements. A consultation fee will be assessed for site visits requiring more than 30 minutes travel time

  • Research

At the beginning of the project, we analyze the site and learn about your needs, preferences, and lifestyle

  • Conceptualize

We present an initial, conceptual design midway through the process that illustrates all plants, built elements and paving

  • Develop

Concept drawings are refined and materials and finishes are selected

  • Finalize

All of the above are distilled into a set of technical drawings ready for your contractor

Design Fee Estimates

Design fees are determined by the size and complexity of your project, and are typically 10 percent of your construction budget. (In our experience, if your construction budget is below $25,000, engaging a landscape architect would not necessarily be cost-effective.)

All estimated pricing includes two onsite meetings, conceptual design, construction documents, contractor referral/bid assistance, and one construction site visit.
